Fobbing
We have had a few reports of fobbing occurring on some lines/taps where Genflow has been installed.
We are not aware of any reason why the Genflow equipment would cause fobbing, but if the kit is not installed to a high standard then it may be possible for other issues to be introduced.
There are a number of potential causes for fobbing which can be researched online, including the following:
Issue | Notes |
---|---|
Dirty Lines | Not impacted by Genflow equipment - the lines should be cleaned regularly |
Beer flowing too quickly | Not impacted by Genflow equipment - the line pressure, pumps and flow rate limiters must be set up correctly |
Cellar too warm | Not impacted by Genflow equipment - the temperature in the cellar must be monitored and controlled to ensure the beer/cider/ale is kept a the correct temperature |
Beer too warm | Not impacted by Genflow equipment - Lines must be effectively insulated and all cooling equipment must be operational and well maintained |
Air getting into the line | As with any equipment in the cellar, the Genflow kit must be installed and maintained by a trained professional in order to ensure that all connections are air tight - preventing air getting into the lines |
